"Sis I'm not sure-"
"I'm sure enough for both of us."
"But I'm still not sure about my sexuality."
"So what? If you're straight you wouldn't be the first straight girl to walk into a les bar." Jen arched an eyebrow at her sister Jess. Jen had been insisting that the place had really good music, and that was really one of the bigger reasons Jess was even entertaining the idea. For the rest though, Jen had pushed her into it. The only way Jess would ever be sure of her sexuality was if she was pushed to meet more people. More people who were welcoming to those of other orientations.
Jen was already comfortable here, although she was a new patron to this bar in particular. She smiled and they walked up to the bouncer. Even with Jess's buzzcut, they were pretty enough to make the cut. She didn't know why, but demigod blood always seemed to help. The aphrodite's blessing that ran in their family probably helped to strengthen the attractiveness of members of the Black family. Of course, it didn't go to either of their heads, but it did indeed come in handy sometimes. Because if they had to wait in line, Jess might grow the guts to say no to her sister. Jen grinned and had her sister sit down at the table.
"You're so pushy."
"Pushing family is my speciality. You need it. Be right baaaackk I'll go get us some sodas. Don't go anywhere, or I'll kill you." Jess nodded meekly, wishing her fiery personality hadn't completely abandoned her. She sighed and ran a hand over her buzzcut, a nervous habit she'd picked up. She looked around. There were quite a few people here. She was sort of amazed that these people all had two things in common: wanting to have a good time, and being supportive of the LGBT community. Jess may have been confused about her own orientation at the moment, but she could appreciate support for the community. After all, her sister was bisexual. She smiled slightly, a rarer occurrence. Something that Jen always told her she should do more often, because apparently it 'was the sort to light up a room'. Jess never believed her of course. It just didn't seem like....her.
She looked up at where the DJ was. The music WAS good, Jen had been right. Whoever was DJing was talented enough to know what they were doing, and Jess could appreciate that. DJs who didn't know what they were doing made their lack of knowledge quite apparent after all.
"Rookie DJs are awful. Always bloody well asking 'can you hear me' and 'are you ready'. I'm glad Jen took me to a place with good DJs at least." She shook her head thinking of how that would be. Only Amateurs with too little attention and too much of a need for acceptance did that. You'd think daddy hadn't loved 'em or something.
