Limitations:

• Gemma can only sustain her glamour for around half an hour. After this, her glamour begins to fade to reveal her true appearance. 
• Gemma can't focus her more "enhanced" glamour on more then one person. If she shifts her focus, her glamour's power weakens to the person she was previously concentrating on.

Side-Effects:

• Using her ability for longer then half an hour will tire Gemma out, and usually give her a headache.
• Using her ability for around half an hour three days a day will exhaust Gemma, and she will have to go and rest. It also usually will give her a headache. 
• Once she's used her ability three times a day for around half an hour at a time, she won't be able to use her ability again until she's rested.

Physical Description: Gemma nearly always has a smile on her face, and her bright, sunny demeanour is obvious by her style. Usually seen in pastel or bright pink summer dresses, Gemma is a girl who truly belongs in the sunshine. 

Personality: Bright, bubbly and energetic, Gemma is as light hearted and friendly as they come. From a young age she looked up to her police officer older brother, Guylian Dove, and aspired to be something similar, something which made a positive impact on society. It takes a lot to bring this girl down, and often insults are met with playful and on occasion childish responses. She’s a dazzle of sunshine on a rainy day, and upon finding someone she believes she can honestly help, she’ll strive to do so, often going above and beyond in an effort to see someone smile. She’s confident, about herself and her skills, and is highly competitive. She’ll generally accept any challenge, and doesn’t take too kindly to being put down. She may not be easy to rile up, but manage to do so and she won’t think twice about giving it all she’s got in return. She’ll purposefully defend those she feels are too meek to defend themselves even if they don’t ask for her help; She’s fearless.

Gemma has quite high morals generally, and wants to become an either a reporter, investigative journalist or detective. She holds a strong belief in the power of the media, and that it can be used for good as opposed to a tool of intimation or fear. She’s spent most of her life trying to further her understanding of forensics and detective techniques, and when it comes to the story and the investigation she’s not past using unlawful methods in order for her to get the information she needs. She believes in the law, but also believes that if it’s for the greater good, she’ll happily defy rules and regulations; She’s the first to throw herself into the line of danger in order to protect others, regardless of who they are. She doesn’t believe she has enemies, and feels as though everyone is her friend, unless they purposefully choose not to be hers by their actions. If she becomes suspicious of you, she’ll put her all into making sure she finds out exactly what your motivations are.

Despite her investigative attitude, if she bonds to someone Gemma will struggle to accept that they’ve done any wrong, and will attempt to prove their innocence if confronted. She can come across as being naïve, and is often blind to the negatives of those she cares for. In her day to day life she may come across as ditzy and blissfully innocent; She may love social interaction and being the life of the party, but she hasn’t any romantic relationships under her belt just yet.

Childhood: Gemma was born as the third child to Nina and Richard Dove, a couple who spent most of their early life living a more bohemian lifestyle. By the time Gemma was born they’d grown out of it to some degree, opting to call her Gemma officially but nicknaming her “Gemstone” as opposed to the more creative names of her older siblings. Growing up she lived in a small town house, and had a pleasant and loving upbringing. Her siblings were overprotective of her, especially her older brother. She was sheltered from most of the world’s problems and brought up in a privileged environment, since her parents were finically in the higher brackets, since they ran a successful tearoom in Corinth, "Sophisticated Grace".

She grew up close to her siblings, looking up to them with admiration. She was taught the same manners and respect for social connotations and law as her siblings were, but she took to it with a far more upbeat and lighthearted attitude. She saw the importance of it, but didn’t quite see why it had to be such a serious subject. She knew from around the age of eight that the majority of her family were children of Aphrodite, and this is a heritage she's immensely proud of.

Adolescence: Gemma’s light hearted and bright personality made education easier for her socially, and she had a far less cruel time then her older brother did. She flourished, although education wise she didn’t excel as much as her brother did. 
As Gemma grew older, she became worried that she wouldn't inherit the same goddess bloodline her family held, but since Guylian didn’t come into his until he was 14, the youngest Dove impatiently waited with the small hope she would come into hers at a later date.
She continued on with her education, growing steadily more passionate about the media and law as she watched the excelling career of her older brother and sister. 

At the age of 16, Gemma was tidying up the tearoom near closing time when the last patron who turned out to be a Cyclops using a purchased illusion spell to hide his appearance, attacked her. Her parents who were in the kitchen came to her aid, her Father fighting off the creature with the a blessed metal blade he kept hold on in case of such instances. 
The creature got away, although injured, at which point Gemma's parents knew their youngest daughter had come into her powers; The monster had smelt the goddess bloodline in her. It was a short time later that Gemma first used her powers, when trying to get a grumpy young male server to give her a free sample of a new ice cream flavour at The Dairy Bar. She got her free sample, a fairground inspired bubblegum flavour.

That week she was taken to be enrolled at Olympus Falls, settling into the school effortlessly, finding the new environment and exploring her new ability a thrilling experience. 
At 16 her brother was shot while on duty, an event which shook Gemma; Seeing how he struggled through his ordeal yet still remained steadfast to his morals and sense of duty installed an even greater desire for Gemma to follow a similar path.

Gemma still works at her family's tearoom as a waitress, and is often there when she's not at school.
