Beau had been minding her own business while walking down the hallways when she stumbled upon this particular disaster. She had a full plan to head back to her dorm room and grab a bikini and other supplies. Then she was going to take a bus out and hit the beach- maybe go to one of the seaside restaurants. However that all flew out the window when she passed an open classroom door and simply had to stop. She pinched the bridge of her nose and walked further in.
”I hope and pray with ever fiber in my bein’ that this is just some mess up you’ve had this mornin’. Because honey, nothin' is working in your outfit. At all.”
Normally Beau would be a lot more polite whenever she was trashing someone’s outfit, but this was absolutely ridiculous. Her accent was sounding even clearer than normal.
”What on the great green earth would make you think a bright orange shirt was a good idea to wear with slacks? With tennis shoes too?” Beau gestured at his feet before rubbing her temples. ”Well if you were trying to get your picture taken at Walmart, you’ve done everything right.”

Steve had no idea what this thing called "fashion" was anyways.
Although this morning he really hadn't been caring too much seeing as his alarm hadn't gone off and he was almost late for his own class! So he hadn't been thinking too much when he grabbed a shirt and pants to go with it. Although that might've explained the strange expressions and barely concealed giggles he got from some of his students. Although Steve had learned to take all of it in stride, and honestly the weirdness of his outfit got the kids' attention more during classes anyways.
Win, right?
Although Steve literally jerked whenever he heard someone come into the classroom and speak. Turning around, he noticed it was some young girl who must've been a high school student. He had to glance down at his shirt while she was ridiculing it. He looked that bad? Although he had to chuckle a bit at the mention of Walmart. "Drat! You found out my master plan!" He exclaimed dramatically, clutching a fist to his chest. Although then he paused and glanced down at his shirt again sheepishly. ".......Is it really that bad?"
Despite the fact Beau found herself aghast at the man’s outfit, even she cracked a bit of a smile at his reply. She hadn’t exactly been polite when she’d commented on his attire, and hadn’t bothered to cover it up cleverly either. Still he’d replied in a more or less friendly manner, which was nice to see and eased her reaction a tad.
”What’s next, Target?”
She had to throw that comment in there while she could. it was too good a chance for her to pass up. Beau observed as the man seemed to actually take in the monstrous matchup he was wearing. A smirk of smugness came to her features when she noticed the sheepishness in his expression.
".......Is it really that bad?”
Beau openly laughed and shook her head, leaning against one of the desks with her hand.
”Darlin' that might be the proud work of a grade schooler putting together their first outfit on their own, but in no way should something like that ever be on the body of an adult in that particular way." Beau remarked, looking him up and down while refraining from scowling. ”You need help. Luckily I would be willing to assist you.”
Steve burst into laughter when the girl mentioned Target. Hey, she didn't seem so bad! "Did one of my minions forget to hide away the agenda for my evil scheme? Or are you just a mind reader?" Steve asked suspiciously, playfully narrowing his eyes at the young girl. Although he really didn't think he was so bad that he'd get his picture taken at Walmart or Target. He went onto those sites to see the insanity that walked into the stores. Sometimes Steve thought he really shouldn't. Some of those outfits were downright scarring.
Eeeeeccchhhhh.
Still that fact his fashion was literally bad enough to even be compared to that made him the tiniest bit concerned. I mean, a student actually came into the classroom just to comment on it. Classes were over, he was pretty sure. This girl was straight out going out of her way just to do this. Which was a little impressive, although Steve felt himself puff up when he was compared to a grade schooler. "Hey! My mom says I look fabulous just the way I am." Steve protested jokingly. Although his ears perked up when the girl was actually offering to help him with his fashion. He had to chuckle. "What are you, the fashion police?"
”Looks like your fashion department is the only thing you need to fix, darlin’. No mind reading was necessary on my end.”
Beau had to admit she was having a bit of fun playing along with the little joke the two had between them. Banter of this type was rare, and it was similarly a treat whenever Beau got a chance to act a little silly. She’d only been talking to Steve for a few minutes and could already tell he was certainly the definition of a “goofball.”
"Hey! My mom says I look fabulous just the way I am.”
Beau found herself laughing again and an actual smile formed on her face.
”That right there is part of your problem. A mother’s love can sometimes be blind to her son’s mistakes.”
The fact he’d honestly pulled out that excuse was enough to make Beau chuckle again. It was such a classic line that Beau knew it was a joke the moment he spoke.
"What are you, the fashion police?”
Beau smirked and stood up straighter, crossing her arms over her chest while tilting her head to the side.
”I sincerely hope not, because even they couldn’t help you in your current predicament, sweetie. You need a miracle, ’n luckily I’m just the girl to get it done. I can already think of a hundred different outfits that would far look better.”
Steve snapped his fingers and huffed as if he'd really been foiled and frustrated about the girl finding out some 'plans' of his. In reality he was innerly giggling like a young anime schoolgirl about the fact that the girl was still playing along with his antics. It was rare for anyone to do it for this long! Usually he just got weird looks or irritated sighs. Teenagers, am I right? Besides it didn't always help that he was the only complete human on campus regularly. Sometimes the kids didn't seem to really give a damn about what he had to say. So this was a nice change! Not that he'd be telling any of her that anyways just in case. What she didn't now wouldn't hurt her, right? And wouldn't get Steve out of a pretty funny conversation.
Steve huffed and pouted, crossing his arms over his chest while sitting on the desk like a moody child. "Meanie." He grumbled, still joking. If she was going to treat him like a child then by god(s) he'd act like one! Although he started chuckling when she mentioned how even the fashion police could save him. "Oh no! Oh dear! I'm doooooooomed!" He moaned tragically. Although once again he was only joking and grinned at the girl. "A hundred huh? Well who am I to argue with that? Although where are we going to go if I have to get knew clothes? What, are we going on a shopping montage or something?"
”Now don’t you go poutin'.” Beau scolding, pointing her finger at Steve with a look. ”That’s hardly the manners of a proper gentlemen. It’s more like the actions of a rebellious little boy.”
Beau was pretty sure he was only kidding around, but she still took the chance to scold him for the little pout he was putting on. Her older brother Will had always tried to pull one off, but Beau had swiftly grown immune to such a look. At least, she’d grown immune to the look from most people.
"Oh no! Oh dear! I'm doooooooomed!”
Beau couldn’t help but be completely amused by this man. He was such a doofus she felt she was right back home with her zany family again. it was a nice feeling, which probably explained why Beau was following along with him still.
"A hundred huh? Well who am I to argue with that? Although where are we going to go if I have to get knew clothes? What, are we going on a shopping montage or something?”
The mention of a shopping montage caused a smile, mischievous smile to form on Beau’s face as she moved some hair out of the way.
”Why, we’re going to town of course!” Beau replied easily, already turning and heading back to the door. ”No better place for shoppin’ and savin’ someone’s fashion sense from sheer destruction. As for the montage; only if we don’t get the ridiculous music that comes along with it. Now go grab your wallet and let’s go! The sooner you get the help better.”
"Maybe I am a little boy trapped in a big boy's body!"Steve protested, turning his head. "Jeez Mooooooooooooom." He added in a childish whine. it was kind of ironic, having the student be scolding the teacher instead of the other way around. And n fashion out of everything. This whole situation was just super amusing. Of course it had to be Steve to get himself into such a mess. Although it wasn't so much a mess as a possible random adventure. Although yes some part of his brain was recognizing that a student and a teacher going out for a shopping spree was definitely weird. But then again this was Steve we're talking about here. So of course that little voice in his head quieted quickly.
When the blonde mentioned going to town, Steve was actually a little surprised. The fact they were going to town meant the girl was legitimately committed to helping him. Steve had to admit he was a little flattered the girl cared so much to help him. Although he had to laugh when she mentioned him grabbing his own wallet and hurrying him along. "Alright alright! I've got a car so I can drive us down, your Majesty." He said with a flourishing, overdramatic bow before he started packing up his things to go on his spontaneous shopping adventure. Seriously, this just had to happen to him huh?
”Oh darlin’ I know, but don’t worry I’m sure you’re mama still loves you warts and all. Besides, I’m sure they make diapers in bigger sizes.”
There was a twinkle of glee and mischief in Beau’s eyes as she said it. It was simply too easy for her to come back at the man with these types of retorts. She couldn’t help herself if she tried.
"Alright alright! I've got a car so I can drive us down, your Majesty.”
Beau smirked once more before she headed out the door and waited outside the classroom. This definitely wasn’t the way she’d planned her day to turn out, but honestly she saw the prospects for this little trip becoming fun. Besides, going to the beach along wasn’t as appealing as trying to salvage Steve’s wardrobe at this point. Which was why she wasted no time at all heading towards the parking lot once Steve had gotten his things. She was eager to get to town and start shopping, because who knew if she’d find something she wanted along the way. Although the first store they’d be going to would definitely be a men’s clothing store so Beau could help Steve. Her own interests could step in later, which would't be so bad considering they were heading for the mall.
”My name is Beau, by the way.” She added offhandedly as she got out of the car and already started walking towards the building. ”I apologize for not giving that when we first spoke.”
