Want to Watch a Movie or Six? [Jennifer and Jessica]

"No need to ask questions about the gods and their bloodlines, if that's what you mean.”

Kristen had to raise an eyebrow at Jessica’s comment. It was already clear to her that her new dorm mates were going to be sassy- or at least one of them was.

"What she MEANS is that we're from a demigod legacy family. We know all about the bloodlines and the gods as we grew up knowing about them. Rather, if you have any questions about them, feel free to ask and perhaps we can help.”

"That's not what I meant.”

"That's what I meant Jess. Be nice.”

Kristen felt a smile grow on her face at the banter between the two siblings. it was kinda of cute, but that might’ve been Kristen’s own memories of Mikey and her interacting swaying her opinion of the scene before her.

"I'm Jennifer Black, and this lump of grump is my sister Jessica.”

Jess. Call me Jess.”

Kristen smirked at Jess and returned to her seat to keep opening the box.

”Here I thought I was going to have to call you ‘Lump of grump’ forever. You sure you don’t want that instead?”

She couldn’t help but throw some lip back at the girl, but Kristen’s attention was soon drawn to the tightly packed movies inside the package. Immediately Kristen realized her brother had sent her all the released Hunger Games movies. Other than that, Kristen couldn’t guess the pattern to her brother’s choices; Goosebumps, Sinister, Star Wars: the Force Awakens, Carol, and The 33. Kristen couldn’t help but crack up at the odd lineup he expected her to watch.

"Let me know when you're done socializing and being the friendly Jenny.”

"Jenny is a name friends use. You don't use Jenny or I'll weave a tapestry around your ass in your sleep and seal it.”

"Now THAT'S better.”

Kristen glanced back up from her new collection of films to watch the two girls again with a faint smile. She shook her head and spread the cases out on the table so she could see them all.

”Only use Jenny if you’re a friend. Got it.” She joked, reading the back of one of the cases. ”I hope we’ll become friends considering we’re stuck living together.”

"Actually she doesn't like anyone using it. She was just saying that to give a better impression because you don't want to tell someone about your ex boyfriend in your first conversation with them.”

Kristen held back a snicker as well as she could when Jen threw Jess an icy glare. Although now that Jess had explained it, Kristen would be sure not to use the name “Jenny” now.

"Looooove you sis. And we're really not all that hard to get along with. As long as you don't approach me before my morning coffee.”

"She just has a bit of a default grumpy is all.”

Kristen did snicker then, already figuring out Jess’ grumpy default from their little interaction. Oddly enough Kristen was fine with it; it reminded her of her mother.

"So anyways we're children of Athena. Weaving. That and we can pick up martial arts and weapons and learn them faster. Which is obviously handy for when we're ripping the heads off monsters. Tapestries really aren't that helpful.”

"I keep telling you, I don't just weave those. Tapestries are fun."

"Yeah sure whatever. It's only fun for you because you're planning on majoring in fashion related stuff."

"I'll remember that for the next time you're going on about how that shirt I wove for you is 'pure heaven to wear in battle'."

"Touche. Anyways, what's your godly legacy or whatever?”

Once again Kristen was thoroughly entertained by their back-and-forth banter and actually laughed as she leaned back in her seat. She might actually end up liking her room mates after all, which would certainly be a plus.

”Ares, so I guess battle is something I should understand fairly well.” She replied with a smirk. ”I’ve got ‘advanced muscle memory’ and ‘telumkinesis,’ so basically the same thing minus the weaving. I don’t think I could weave to save my life.” She admitted with a shrug, picking up another movie. ”Oh by the way, my brother just sent me a bunch of movies so feel free to watch them. I don’t think he was going for any particular theme here because none of these relate.”
