Emma had been pacing in her room for the past hour. She felt as though she was locked in a prison. Even though she had more restrictions and rules at the orphanage, she still she was trapped here. At least there she felt respected and was able to do just about anything. It had not occurred to her that perhaps she was creating the non-existent boundaries in her head.
The brunette, frustrated with herself, stormed out of her room looking for the nearest exit. It was a dreary Sunday afternoon, with most of the students and faculty buried away in their rooms. No one really wants to be outside on a rainy day. Emma on the other hand found it refreshing. Seeing as there was no sun, Emma slowly raised her oversized sunglasses and placed them on her head. Hesitant, she blinked a few times and gradually opened her eyes, and was relieved when they didn’t burn immediately.
She made her way over to the school garden as the rain fell on her, she didn’t care, and by the time she made it she was completely soaked. All she was happy about was the fact that she could be outside during the day without her sunglasses on. Emma sat on the ground, next to one of the plants, she felt the water seep into to her pants. She ran her hands through the dirt, which was more like mud now. She tried, and failed to get it to move as she usually did with dirt, but the added weight of the rain had made it heavier for her to handle.
Emma took in a deep breath, as she raised her head up to see the grey sky above. A smile grew on her face as she embraced the one possible good day she may have since being here.
