Katerina felt almost out of place in a building like this, but she wasn't all that familiar with the internet and besides, this was a place that Selina would likely visit often. Even if Katerina couldn't be physically close to her daughter, perhaps being in a place Selina often came to would be enough. Katerina was even wearing slightly more modest clothing for the occasion, her tight blood red top only showing off a little cleavage and her short black skirt only a few inches above the knee. She still got disapproving looks from people, but honestly she didn't care. She was just here because the only thing Selina ever talked about when she came home were her classes and her training sessions.
Katerina felt like ever since Selina had left for Olympus Falls, a great rift had somehow appeared in their relationship and things had only gotten worse over the past couple years. Katerina wondered if it was something she'd said or done to chase her daughter away, but for the life of her she couldn't figure out what. Selina had repeatedly assured Kat that everything was fine, but Kat knew her daughter better than that. Katerina knew University was a time for younger adults to become independent, but surely that didn't mean that she should be completely cut out from her daughter's life? Kat was nervous, as maybe she'd done something horribly wrong. Katerina hadn't exactly had the best examples to go by, but she was trying her hardest, and Selina knew that... right?
Katerina shook her head and sighed as she pulled out a book on Aikido, one of Selina's favorite subjects to talk about. She gently fingered the pages and started to read through what she could, wading through the lingo and jargon she didn't yet understand with patience. Katerina knew something was up, and she couldn't seem to get her mind off of it. Something was wrong, and not knowing what was terrifying. She'd seen the new scars and occasional bruises amongst other wounds, but Selina had always assured her that they were merely from training and that Kat was worrying too much. Kat placed her head in her hands as she tried to focus on the pages before her, but she found the lines blurring together and her concentration constantly slipping back to the daughter who might as well be on the other side of the world.
