Echo had been called in to cover another trainer who was out sick, or hungover. She hadn't cared enough to ask, and it was easier to judge when she didn't know the truth. Either way she was happy to cover for them. Training students was training for herself as well, so it was never without value. Besides that, she wouldn't be doing the job is she didn't enjoy it. Echo waited in one of the private training rooms, absently massaging her knuckles as she waited for her student. Selina, was it? Or Sabrina? She was almost half-sure it started with a 's'. Names weren't the important part of a training session, but she typically at least tried to be a mature adult and do proper introductions.
A black box sat on the only table behind her, containing a pair of push-daggers that she'd borrowed. As she waited, Echo picked her own older daggers off the table, the handles were worn from use but the blades were clearly lovingly cared for. Fitting them comfortable between her fingers, she advanced on the punching bag she had dragged into the room with its stand. That had been a struggle, which was why she had ensured nobody had seen her doing it.
She struck out with a palm first, knocking the bag to the side then lashing in with her other hand in a downwards strike. She retreated then moved in again, trying a different maneuver this time. It was hard for the bag to imitate human movements, but at least it got her moving and warmed up in preparation for Selina's arrival. The young woman flowed like water around the equipment, landing sharp strikes before whirling away. So caught up was she in the movements that for once, she didn't notice when someone stepped through the door.
- Selina C. Álvarez . To begin they'll start with exercises kind of like this but slower of course, and involving Sel's aikido -
