Emma found herself in the dining hall, right in the mix of the loud students having various conversations with their friends. Behind her over-sized sunglasses she spotted an empty table in the corner. Before taking a seat she stared up at the bright florescent lights that covered the entire ceiling. Part of her had wished she could turn them off. More importantly she wished she could turn off her eyes, which she knew was impossible. Then again, there had been a lot of things she had thought to be impossible.
The brunette took a seat at the empty table before scanning the room. Her eyes stopped at the kitchen, she couldn’t help but wonder if perhaps they would let her back there. It had been a week and she still hadn’t baked anything. To be fair, her life had been turned upside down, and although it may seem like she didn’t care, all she really wanted to do was to bake.
It was odd. How calmly she had been handling the news. It was partially due to Sister Margret having so much faith in her and thinking it was a good idea. On the other hand. The university drew a similar parallel to her life before it. It was what she was used to, living with other kids and going to school. It was essentially what she was doing before, even the fact that she was a child of a God. The only difference was this one had a different name.
Emma pulled out a crumpled piece of paper from her pocket and started to open it on the table and before she could even open it all the way a blob of yogurt came flying through the air and landed right on top of it. She froze in that moment, starring at her hands and paper that was covered in what looked like strawberry yogurt. She kept her head low and waited until she could no longer hear the laughter.
